Clinical trials have shown that 'natural' products have an effect on prostate tissue. Saw palmetto, beta-sitosterol and rye grass pollen, (Prostabrit) for instance have anti-inflammatory effects on the prostate and can help with some prostatitis cases.
Cranberry tablets have been show to inhibit the ability of bacteria to 'hang on' to tissue and are flushed out of the system.
Whilst it is true that like prescription drugs, there is no 'over the counter' product that can cure the problem, it is worth the cost of taking one or two of them to see if any can 'damp-down' any pain you are having with this painful and disabling disease. We have reports that Beta-sitosterol for instance has helped to mitigate the condition.
Excellent reports from a controlled trial by doctors in the U.S.A. show that Quercetin, found in apples and onions for instance, which is a powerful anti-inflammatory has controlled the pain. Readers of this site have reported good control, not cure, using both Quercetin and Beta-sitosterol together.
A wide variety of antibiotics, painkillers, relaxants etc. can be used. Regrettably none of them appear to 'cure' the condition.
Many men are on a cocktail of such drugs, changing from one to another fine-tuning their condition in attempt to get through their working day.
Our Newsletters feature articles from time to time from men who are living with their condition. These contain details of the drugs etc they have taken, those which they feel have helped etc.
Following information from the Philippines, backed up by a Doctor from the USA who has checked out the claims of Dr. Filiciano who is using an old technique, prostate massage, together with correctly targeted antibiotics, we have with permission produced information sheets on the Filiciano method, or the Manila treatment. Also included is a method of DIY massage in case you are unable to persuade a medic to help you.
There have been no trials as at this time, however, it certainly works for some. One man in the UK who persuaded his urologist to begin the treatment is now much relieved and although as he says, he is not cured, he has regained much of his old zest for life again.
INFORMATION SHEETS AVAILABLE.
THE MANILA TREATMENT
Twelve pages of information on the treatment that is being hailed as a cure for prostatitis, prostatadynia and incorrectly diagnosed BPH. Currently used in the Philippines, this treatment is being evaluated in the USA. This gives step by step advice, understandable by any GP or Urologist, on an apparent way to ‘cure’ Chronic Prostatitis and Prostatodynia. It also gives, you the patient, enough information to fully understand all aspects of the condition and treatment.
THE PROSTATE MASSAGE DIY METHOD
Detailed step by step advice on how to massage your own prostate. This prostate massage technique, as performed by Dr. Filiciano in the Philippines, has been shown to bring relief to many men who find their lives shattered by this painful condition. The writer of this 'Method' when asked after 15 months of self massage if it had all been worth it said "DEFINITELY".
There is now a device which allows anyone to DIY this treatment. No longer are you dependant upon medics to drain/massage. Save on the high cost in medical fees, time and trouble, (that is assuming you can actually find a medic who is willing to do prostate massage), by DIY treatment. Although DIY does not appear to be a cure, men say at least they feel they are back in control of their lives
THE INFORMATION ON DR FILICIANO AND DIY MASSAGE IS AVAILABLE FREE ON THE WWW. -- CHECK WITH THE PROSTATITIS FOUNDATION IN THE USA.
There is no 'guaranteed' cure for any prostate condition there are however many treatments. Some are prescription drugs, some are not, you must bear in mind that a product which is a prescription product in one country may not be in another. Some products or treatment methods may be endorsed in some countries and looked down upon by the medics in another. Whatever is said here the PHA do not endorse any treatment but try to place before you those which appear to have helped some men to overcome the problems associated with the disease.
All medical decisions should be taken in conjunction with your medical advisors.
Inclusion of links is NOT an endorsement by the Prostate Help Association, nor do we guarantee any information you will find, other than our own. We would remind everyone that they should discuss with their medical team all aspects of their condition and then come to a decision in regard to the best treatment for their condition.
